The
Carolina Panthers were
unanimously selected as the 29th NFL franchise in 1993.
Fireworks exploded over uptown Charlotte as jubilant
fans gathered to celebrate the news. Jerry Richardson,
owner & club founder, became only the second former
player to own an NFL team along with George Halas of the
Chicago Bears.
The Panthers
meet with early NFL success primarily due to smart
player selection through both the draft and free agency.
In 1996 the
Carolina Panthers
stunned the NFL by
winning the NFC West division title and posting a
remarkable 12-4 record. |
