The
Green
Bay Packers
began playing in 1919 and were
among the founder members of the NFL in 1921.
They have been a publicly-owned company since
1923 and remain the only NFL team publicly owned
to this day. Some of the game’s greats have
played for the Green
Bay Packers – quarterback Bart Starr
and running back Jim Taylor – while legendary
head coach Vince Lombardi was in charge of the
team from 1959-67. The Packers won nine NFL
championships and the first two Super Bowls in
1967 and 1968. After a 29-year drought, the
Green Bay Packers returned to glory by winning the Super
Bowl in 1997 before losing to the Denver Broncos
in the final a year later. Perennial contenders
who reached the second
round of the playoffs last season before being
knocked out in Philadelphia.

- The
Green Bay
Packers
remain the only team in the NFL owned by the fans and
they are the sentimental favorites of neutrals across
America. Lambeau Field
– home of the Packers – is the NFL’s equivalent of the
old Wembley Stadium. It is considered the home of the
NFL and boasts a rich history.
