New Orleans Saints Tickets

New Orleans Saints tickets, Saints tickets

The New Orleans Saints were the 16th franchise awarded in NFL in December of 1966. The Saints began their NFL competition in the fall of 1967 against the then Los Angeles Rams. Rookie running back John Gilliam took the opening kick off 94 yards for a touchdown. The New Orleans Saints eventually lost a hard fought game 27-13 and finished their initial campaign with three wins, the highest first-year total for a new franchise.

In 1971 the New Orleans Saints drafted one of their favorite sons, Archie Manning,  to redirect the fortunes of the Saints. Manning played valiantly but was often surrounded by less talented cast during his career.

The New Orleans Saints became known as the "Aints" in the 1970's and early 80's as fans often came to the Louisiana Superdome in quasi protest with paper bags over their heads.

In last season playoffs, the Saints were eliminated when the St. Louis Rams beat the New York Jets in a thrilling overtime game. Nevertheless, the four-game win streak to end the season left many Saints fans optimistic about the team's future prospects.
