The
Raiders have long had a reputation as the bad boys of the
NFL led by maverick owner Al Davis. The Silver and Black began
life in Oakland in 1960 before moving to Los Angeles in 1982 and
then back to Oakland in 1995. The
Raiders have appeared in five
Super Bowls, winning in 1977, 1981 and 1984. They lost the Super
Bowl to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers following the 2002 season and
also lost Super Bowl II back in 1968.
The Oakland Raiders
ensured a rough 2003
campaign, winning just four games. As a
result coach Bill Callahan
was sacked, allowing Norv Turner to step in as the club’s third head
coach in the past four years. |
