The
San Diego
Chargers
began life in Los Angeles in 1960 before moving to San
Diego a year later and have long boasted a fierce
rivalry with the Raiders. Lone championship came in 1963
when they were crowned kings of the American Football
League. Following the 1970 AFL-NFL merger, the
San Diego Chargers
have reached just one Super Bowl, losing to the San
Francisco 49ers in 1995. The Chargers were also losing semi
finalists in 1980 and 1981. The
Chargers past seasons in 2001 and 2002 were an
improvement, winning five games in 2001 and eight
games in 2002. Although the
2000 season saw the Chargers rank worst in the NFL with just one
victory, the San Diego Chargers have made a
strong comeback in 2004. |
